Jazz legend Patti Austin at the MoMa restaurant
It was a real pleasure for the MoMa restaurant to host Patti Austin for dinner. A true legend of American jazz and soul music, Patti Austin has had an illustrious career and created unforgettable songs. Godmother of Dinah Washington and Quincy Jones, over the years she has worked with the great producer, and among her duet partners are Michael Jackson, James Ingram, George Benson and others. Her songs are always at the top of the charts, and with her classic jazz album Avant Gershwin from 2008, she won a Grammy Award. In 2016, Patti Austin is about to release another jazz album with the songs that Ella Fitzgerald made popular. The singer also began a series of concert appearances as a soloist with symphony orchestras (of Detroit, Baltimore, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Oregon, etc.) with a program of songs by Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington.
